Hi awesome readers x bloggers!
As many of you know, I am from Cleveland, Ohio and I enjoy supporting people from my hometown! For today’s wardrobe Wednesday I was able to chitchat with Donovan Boyd, better know as “The Marketing Coach”. We talk about many things from fall fashion must haves, the importance of understanding your customers, social media, and much more. Regardless if you are an established company or a new entrepreneur, there's some very useful advice to be taken in. Kick up your feet, relax, grab a glass of wine for “Wine down Wednesday” and enjoy!

CC: What does style mean to you and how would you describe your personal style?
Donovan: “Style/image is everything, it is apart of my brand it is who I am. I take pride in how I look everyday when I walk out of the house. I always lived by the motto, dress for the job you want not the one you have. My style is %100 professional at all times which is a part of my visual presentation.”
CC: Top 5 must have items in a men’s wardrobe this fall/winter?

2. Top Coats
5. Dress boots
CC: Top 5 brands or places to shop?
2. Nordstrom Rack
3. H&M (in major cities)
*No matter where you shop, I recommend investing in a tailor.
CC: How important is social media and networking within our generation and society today?
Donovan: “Social media is extremely important because it plays a major role in how companies or brands communicate and connect with their consumers. With our generation being at the birth of social media it is important for business owners to embrace the change that it has brought to the business world and put people in place to find innovative ways to connect with their target audience via these platforms. I think that it is important to network only if you’re making meaningful connections.”
CC: How important is “marketing strategy” and making sure your message addresses your market research and customer’s needs?
Donovan: “The biggest mistake organizations make is not doing the research that is needed to understand the needs of their consumer. Once this is understood the execution of your marketing strategy is key to the success of your business. It is very important that you plan and see that plan all the way through, do not cut corners, if you put the time and effort in to develop a strategy please see that strategy to the end.”
CC: Any advice to the readers looking to expand their brand?
Donovan: “Yes, always remember that your brand can not be all things to all people.”
CC: Lastly, The Prevailing Effect is someone who has prevailed and overcame many obstacles in life to get to where they are today. Do you consider yourself a “Prevailing Effect”?
Donovan: “Yes I consider myself a prevailing effect, I went to Fordham University in New York City "Go Rams" on a full athletic scholarship. I had big dreams of playing in the NFL. I had dedicated myself to make this dream become reality, but little did I know God had another plan for me because I suffered two severe knee injuries that I could not bounce back from. This is when I found my true love and passion, which is for Marketing and Entertainment. I have been afforded many opportunities to enhance my knowledge and skill in this industry and know I'm ready to travel the world and share this gift and knowledge with as many brands as possible.”
Also, I am very excited because I have been working on a film project in Cleveland OH and NYC for the last several months with Drico Lamar who is an excellent film director based in Cleveland entitled "Marketing Is My Sport". The Brand Film which is set to drop today 11.11.15 so head over to my website and check it out today.
